W. V. Quine rejects the division between analytic truths (based on definitions) and synthetic truths (based on experience), arguing that all statements are part of an interconnected web of beliefs. This view leads to his famous claim that no statement is immune to revision, not even logic or mathematics. Quine proposes that all knowledge—whether logical, mathematical, or empirical—exists within a “holistic web of interconnected beliefs”. Each statement derives meaning and justification not in isolation but in relation to the entire web. When empirical evidence conflicts with a part of this web, any statement in the web (including those traditionally considered analytic) can be revised to restore coherence.
